Agentic Design Lead
The Agentic Design Lead at WPP Media is a pivotal role that bridges AI strategy, workflow design, and team enablement. This position focuses on transforming client and agency requirements into practical, governed AI agent use cases, utilizing WPP Open and leading enterprise AI tools. The role is based in Australia, with opportunities in Melbourne and Sydney.
In this capacity, the Agentic Design Lead collaborates closely with clients, including marketers and marketing operations leaders, to identify and prioritize high-value AI agent deployment opportunities. The role involves working with data science, analytics consultants, and data engineers to ensure the feasible and safe delivery of AI solutions. Additionally, the Agentic Design Lead partners with WPP Open Product teams to shape Agent Hub adoption, governance, patterns, and roadmap alignment across WPP Media Australia.
Key responsibilities encompass leading structured discovery sessions with clients and internal teams to identify, size, and prioritize AI agent opportunities across various domains such as strategy, creative development, media planning, analytics, reporting, and marketing operations. The role requires translating business challenges into clear agent blueprints, including defining inputs, decision logic, data dependencies, human-in-the-loop checkpoints, governance paths, and success metrics. Designing workflow integration is also crucial, embedding agents into real workflows like briefing, planning, QA, reporting, approvals, and optimization, rather than positioning them as standalone tools.
Candidates should possess a background in consulting, advertising, marketing technology, or strategy, with a minimum of 10 years of experience. A strong understanding of modern marketing workflows and agency operating models is essential. The role demands a solid working knowledge of AI patterns, including grounding/RAG, prompt and context design, structured outputs, multi-step reasoning, agent workflows, and workflow automation. Preferred qualifications include hands-on experience with low-code, node-based, and orchestration tools such as n8n, CoWork, Copilot Studio, and Power Automate, with the confidence to prototype, test, and iterate practical workflow solutions.
