AML Analyst
Gilbert + Tobin is seeking an AML Analyst to join its AML/CTF compliance and client onboarding function. This role involves supporting client due diligence, onboarding, risk assessment, and ongoing monitoring to ensure compliance with regulatory and internal requirements. The position is based in Sydney, Melbourne, or Perth and offers an opportunity to work closely with various teams, including AML/CTF, conflicts, business intake, partners, lawyers, and business services.
Key responsibilities include completing client due diligence for new and existing clients by reviewing identity, ownership, and control information. The analyst will support client and matter risk assessments by gathering and validating information across firm systems and stakeholders. Liaising with partners, lawyers, and clients to obtain and clarify onboarding information is essential. Additional duties involve assisting with beneficial ownership checks, corporate structure reviews, and enhanced due diligence for higher-risk matters, as well as identifying and escalating incomplete, inconsistent, or unusual information, including potential red flags. Maintaining accurate AML/CTF records and supporting ongoing monitoring and periodic reviews are also part of the role.
The ideal candidate will have experience in AML/CTF, KYC, compliance, legal administration, or a similar role, preferably in a legal or professional services environment. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities, are essential. Clear written and verbal communication skills are required, along with confidence in working with stakeholders to gather information and follow up on outstanding items. Sound judgment, the ability to identify issues and escalate where appropriate, and proficiency in using databases, workflow tools, and business systems are also important. The candidate must be able to handle confidential information with care and professionalism.
Gilbert + Tobin offers a flexible and professional working environment with a strong focus on collaboration and support. The offices are centrally located with easy access to public transport, restaurants, cafes, and fitness facilities.
