Android Engineer, Consumer Discovery Team
As an Android Engineer on Wolt's Consumer Discovery Team, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing the user experience of our consumer app. Wolt, established in 2014, has evolved from a restaurant food delivery service to a comprehensive platform delivering a wide array of products across over 500 cities in 30 countries. In 2022, we joined forces with DoorDash, further expanding our global reach and ambition.
In this role, you will design, build, and operate high-performance Android features that facilitate user discovery within the app. Your responsibilities will include developing and maintaining discovery surfaces, front pages, and category experiences across both new and existing verticals. Collaborating closely with Product, Design, and Data teams, you will define hypotheses, implement A/B tests, and utilize feature flags to validate ideas swiftly. Writing clean, testable code and mentoring fellow engineers through code reviews and design discussions will also be key aspects of your day-to-day work.
We are seeking candidates with at least 3-4 years of experience in developing Android applications. A strong ownership mindset is essential, encompassing the entire development cycle from feature development to ensuring defect-free releases. Experience in production app troubleshooting, the ability to drive impact from both technical and work management perspectives, and a clear communication style are crucial. Proficiency in Android, Kotlin & Coroutines, Compose, Koin, MVI, Modularization, and Maestro is expected. An AI-driven mindset and a desire to build beautiful animations, with the assistance of our Motion Designer, are highly valued.
