Assistant General Counsel, Employment
Robinhood is seeking an experienced Employment Attorney to join its legal team as Assistant General Counsel, Employment. This role involves providing day-to-day legal advice on employment policies, training, investigations, and risk assessments across the company's U.S. and international locations. The position is based in Menlo Park, CA; New York, NY; or Washington, DC, with in-person attendance expected at least three days per week.
Key responsibilities include serving as a consultant and advisor to the People and Compliance teams by offering ethics and employment law advice and strategy. The role involves partnering with leaders across the company on various domestic and international business and legal matters, including benefits, compensation, immigration, recruiting, tax, corporate policy, ethics, compliance, and incident response. Additionally, the attorney will develop and review policies, standards, and business procedures to ensure compliance with various state, federal, and international employment laws and regulations.
The ideal candidate will possess a J.D. degree (or foreign equivalent) and membership in at least one U.S. state bar. A minimum of 7 years of legal practice experience is required, with at least 3 years specializing in employment law. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential, along with the ability to provide practical advice by balancing business needs with legal risks. The candidate should demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with partners at all levels of the company.
Robinhood offers a competitive compensation package, including a base salary range of $230,000 to $270,000 annually for Zone 1 locations (Menlo Park, CA; New York, NY; Bellevue, WA; Washington, DC).
