Associate Attorney
Tyson & Mendes LLP is a national litigation firm specializing in insurance defense and trial advocacy. The Associate Attorney role is integral to the firm's mission of redefining legal excellence and stopping Nuclear Verdicts®. This position offers an opportunity to work within a dynamic team committed to innovative legal strategies and outstanding client service.
As an Associate Attorney, you will independently manage a full caseload, handling all aspects from discovery through trial. Your responsibilities will include developing compelling case strategies, conducting court appearances, depositions, motion practice, and trials. You will also maintain consistent communication with clients, build and nurture relationships with existing and prospective clients, and mentor junior attorneys to foster team growth and success.
Candidates should possess a Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school and hold an active bar license in the state of California. A minimum of 1–8 years of solid litigation experience, including case strategy, depositions, and trial preparation, is required. Prior insurance defense experience is preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint is essential, along with strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills.
The compensation package includes a base salary ranging from $115,000 to $160,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications. Attorneys are eligible for an annual billable hours bonus starting at $10,000, with additional tiers available.
