Associate Corporate Counsel
Zscaler is seeking a Privacy Counsel to join its Legal department in London. This role involves supporting the development and enhancement of Zscaler's privacy compliance program and assisting with commercial agreements related to SaaS products for a global clientele. The position reports to the Senior Privacy Counsel and offers an opportunity to contribute significantly to a leading company in cloud internet security.
Key responsibilities include serving as a subject matter expert on privacy, data protection, and AI-related issues, providing practical guidance to both customers and internal stakeholders. The role also involves reviewing and negotiating Data Processing Agreements (DPAs) with customers and vendors, advising legal team members on privacy and AI-related matters, and staying current with global privacy, data protection, and AI regulations.
The ideal candidate is a qualified lawyer with a valid license to practice in a UK or EU jurisdiction and has over three years of experience in a corporate legal department or law firm, focusing on data privacy issues, contract negotiations, and product counseling. Expert knowledge of international privacy laws and regulations, experience in cybersecurity laws and incident response related to data privacy, and professional certifications such as CIPP, CIPM, or CIPT are required.
Preferred qualifications include a working knowledge of technology platforms and data flows, including cloud and mobile devices, experience in designing compliance programs within the tech industry, and the ability to navigate complex AI frameworks and multi-jurisdictional technology transactions.
