GEICO is seeking Associate Counsel to join our Staff Counsel teams in Savannah and Macon, Georgia. In this role, you will defend lawsuits filed in Georgia courts and manage first-party insurance defense cases. As part of GEICO's legal team, you will contribute to our mission of providing quality coverage and exceptional service to our customers.

Your primary responsibilities will include researching laws and preparing legal briefs, opinions, and memoranda. You will render opinions on liability, damages, and value as requested by the Claims Department. Additionally, you will prepare and handle pleadings, motions, and discovery, including conducting depositions and examinations under oath, and defend cases through trial or dispositive hearings as assigned.

To be considered for this position, you must possess a Juris Doctor degree and be admitted to the Georgia Bar in good standing. A minimum of 2 to 6 years of experience in insurance defense and/or personal injury litigation is required. Strong organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple tasks, and effective communication skills are essential. You must also be able to travel as needed for trials, hearings, depositions, and meetings.
