Associate General Counsel-Leader
Edward Jones is seeking an experienced attorney to lead a legal team supporting its proprietary funds management business. This role involves providing strategic legal advice to business leaders, ensuring compliance with the Investment Company Act and related regulations, and contributing to the firm's mission of delivering client-focused financial solutions.
The Associate General Counsel-Leader will oversee a team comprising two attorneys and one paralegal, guiding them in delivering comprehensive legal services for the firm's proprietary funds. Key responsibilities include developing and implementing risk mitigation strategies, analyzing complex legal matters, recommending policy and procedural changes, and effectively communicating complex legal issues to both legal and non-legal professionals at all levels. Additionally, the role involves collaborating with outside counsel to address and resolve unique legal challenges.
Candidates must possess a Juris Doctorate and be licensed to practice law in Missouri or another state. A minimum of ten years of progressive professional experience in relevant practice areas is required. Experience in private practice or as in-house counsel representing registered investment companies and advisers is essential. Strong analytical skills, sound judgment, and excellent communication abilities are critical for success in this position.
