Associate General Counsel, Product and Privacy

Scale AI is seeking an Associate General Counsel specializing in Product and Privacy to join their legal team. This role involves providing strategic legal guidance on product development and privacy matters, ensuring compliance with global data protection laws, and supporting the company's mission to advance artificial intelligence technologies.

The Associate General Counsel will be responsible for identifying and managing legal risks in product development, including privacy, regulatory, licensing, and intellectual property concerns. They will collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, Operations, and Security teams to integrate privacy by design into products and processes. Additionally, the role includes drafting and negotiating commercial agreements, such as data protection agreements, and ensuring compliance with global privacy laws like the CCPA and GDPR.

Candidates should have at least 9 years of legal experience, focusing on emerging technologies and privacy and data protection counseling. Expertise in U.S. and global privacy regulations is essential, along with experience advising on the legal aspects of product development in the technology sector. Strong communication skills and the ability to translate legal advice into actionable guidance for technical teams are also required.

Scale AI offers a competitive compensation package, including base salary, equity, and benefits. The base salary range for this full-time position in San Francisco, New York, and Seattle is $231,000 to $288,750 USD.
