Associate General Counsel, Product & Regulatory
Flex is seeking an Associate General Counsel, Product & Regulatory to join its Product & Regulatory Legal team. This role involves leading cross-functional legal projects with company-wide impact, partnering directly with senior leaders across Product, Engineering, Finance, and Business Development to navigate the complex and evolving consumer financial regulatory landscape. The Associate General Counsel will drive multiple strategic decisions simultaneously and own significant portions of the legal function roadmap.
Key responsibilities include leading cross-functional legal projects from initiation to resolution, serving as the senior legal partner for product and engineering teams by providing real-time guidance on new features and go-to-market strategies, managing regulatory change by monitoring federal and state developments, advising senior leaders on consumer regulatory risk and enforcement trends, reviewing and negotiating business development and partner agreements for consumer regulatory risk, integrating new legal tools and workflows, and owning the legal AI governance framework.
The ideal candidate will have over seven years of legal experience with deep expertise in consumer financial services, including familiarity with CFPB rulemaking, Reg Z/TILA, UDAP/UDAAP, money transmission, and state licensing. A proven track record of advising product and engineering teams directly, influencing decisions at the senior leadership level, and leading complex, cross-functional legal projects is essential. The candidate should be comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment with incomplete information and possess clear, plain-English communication skills. A Juris Doctor from an accredited law school and active bar admission are required.
Flex offers a competitive compensation package, with a base salary range of $256,000 to $320,000 for candidates in Tier 1 markets (NYC/SF/Seattle). For other U.S. locations, compensation is adjusted based on market conditions.
