Associate, O&M Cost Strategy
The O&M Cost Strategy Associate at Clearway Energy is responsible for developing, analyzing, and enhancing Operations & Maintenance (O&M) cost models across the company's renewable energy portfolio. This role focuses on creating data-driven cost insights, supporting forecasting activities, benchmarking O&M expenditures, and assisting cross-functional teams in evaluating operational performance and future cost trends. The position is open to candidates in Scottsdale, San Diego, Houston, Denver, and San Francisco offices.
Key responsibilities include developing and maintaining detailed cost estimating models for wind, solar, and storage assets across various project phases, utilizing statistical and forecasting tools to model maintenance expenditures and equipment risk profiles, and collaborating with internal stakeholders to validate O&M cost assumptions. The associate will also support internal teams with data requests, cost breakdowns, and scenario analyses, assist in preparing cost assumptions for budgeting and long-range planning, analyze historical O&M costs to identify trends and opportunities for efficiency, and develop Power BI dashboards to visualize key model inputs and outputs. Additionally, the role involves using AI tools to automate routine data processing tasks and extract key commercial data from contracts.
Candidates should possess a bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Finance, or a related field, along with at least four years of experience in renewable energy, power generation, or infrastructure. A solid understanding of renewable energy plant operations, demonstrated experience in operations support roles, excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, and strong analytical and project management capabilities are essential. Familiarity with lifecycle cost analysis, predictive maintenance modeling, large datasets or forecasting tools, renewable project finance, and proficiency in data analytics tools like Power BI, Tableau, SQL, or Python are advantageous.
The salary range for this position is $100,000 to $129,000 annually, depending on geographic location, skills, experience, education, training, and certifications. The role is also eligible for an annual cash bonus, subject to personal and company performance goals.
