Avionics Systems Engineer - Communication
As an Avionics Systems Engineer specializing in communication at Helsing, you will be responsible for defining and developing end-to-end airborne communication systems, encompassing data, voice, and mission-critical data links. This role involves close collaboration with industry partners and platform teams to integrate emerging technologies into air platforms, ensuring alignment with standards and interoperability among diverse stakeholders.
Key responsibilities include leading the design and development of both airborne and ground-based communication architectures utilizing modern technologies. You will manage relationships with stakeholders, partners, suppliers, and government entities, oversee the systems engineering lifecycle from requirements development to qualification, and prepare and supervise system and aircraft-level tests, including flight tests. Additionally, you will create certification and compliance documentation, ensuring adherence to aviation and regulatory standards throughout the development process, and provide regular project status and technical updates to Chief Engineering and Programme Management.
The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. You should have experience leading the design and development of military or civil communication systems for air platforms and possess deep knowledge of communication technologies such as software-defined radios, data links, air-to-air and air-to-ground communications, cybersecurity, RF communications, SATCOM, network management, jamming, antenna design, electronic warfare, and secure communications. Familiarity with systems engineering, aircraft certification, and avionics integration is essential, along with excellent communication skills and a passion for staying current with research and technology advancements.
