Avionics Systems Engineer - Safety Critical Systems
As an Avionics Systems Engineer specializing in Safety Critical Systems at Helsing, you will lead the development and delivery of flight control and vehicle management hardware and software. This role involves close collaboration with industry partners and internal teams to define system architectures and drive them through all development stages to integration on the flying platform.
Key responsibilities include leading the technical development of system architectures, defining requirements for safety-critical systems, and managing the systems engineering lifecycle from requirements development to qualification. You will also prepare technical deliverables and documentation, create certification and compliance documents, and ensure adherence to aviation and regulatory standards throughout the development process.
The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. Experience in designing and developing safety-critical hardware and software for airborne platforms is essential, along with a deep understanding of avionics hardware and software development. Familiarity with standards such as ARP4754, ARP4761, DO-178C, and DO-254 is required. Established relationships with civil or military aviation authorities and strong knowledge of Guidance Navigation & Control and air vehicle management are also important. Excellent communication skills are necessary for effective collaboration and reporting.
