BESS Field Technician - Poway, CA

The BESS Field Technician position at Arevon involves maintaining and operating a utility-scale Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) power plant in Poway, CA. Reporting directly to the project Site Manager, the technician will oversee the plant's operations, ensuring optimal performance and safety compliance. Key responsibilities include monitoring plant operations through SCADA systems, performing commissioning, testing, inspection, troubleshooting, and repair of both AC and DC BESS systems. The technician will work with components such as inverters, transformers, switchgear, substation equipment, and metering systems. Additionally, the role involves supervising contractors to ensure maintenance activities are conducted safely, efficiently, and to high-quality standards.

Candidates should have at least three years of direct experience as a BESS or PV solar technician, or six years in a non-solar electrical maintenance role. Essential qualifications include excellent written and verbal communication skills, a valid U.S. driver's license with an acceptable MVR history, and strong problem-solving abilities. The role requires proficiency in electrical schematics, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
