Billing Manager
AlertMedia is seeking a Billing Manager to join its Finance & Accounting team. This role is pivotal in owning and scaling billing operations to support the company's rapid growth. The Billing Manager will report to the VP, Controller, and will be responsible for managing the end-to-end billing process across subscription and usage-based revenue streams. The position is based in Austin, Texas, and requires residency in Austin or the surrounding areas.
The Billing Manager will oversee the entire billing process, ensuring timely and accurate invoice generation. Responsibilities include managing the billing queue, prioritizing tasks, and executing billing operations efficiently. The role also involves reviewing and resolving complex billing scenarios, such as proration, expansions, and terminations, and making real-time decisions to maintain the flow of billing operations. Additionally, the Billing Manager will lead the Accounts Receivable team, providing guidance, setting priorities, and ensuring accountability. Collaboration with systems teams to improve automation and workflows is also a key aspect of the role.
Candidates should have at least 6 years of experience in billing, accounts receivable, or revenue operations, with a strong understanding of subscription and usage-based billing. Experience in managing high-volume billing processes and leading teams is essential. The role requires the ability to balance accuracy and speed in execution, strong organizational and decision-making skills, and the capacity to operate independently in a fast-paced environment. Experience working cross-functionally with Sales and Customer teams is also important.
