The Board Manufacturing Test Engineer role at Graphcore involves developing and implementing high-quality manufacturing test solutions for advanced electronic systems. This position is part of the Product Test and Diagnosis (PTD) team, which is responsible for detecting and managing hardware defects across chips, boards, and complete systems during both manufacturing and field operations. The engineer will collaborate closely with hardware design teams and other PTD members to define and develop appropriate test solutions using techniques such as boundary scan and embedded functional test.

Key responsibilities include analyzing PCB design testability and susceptibility to manufacturing defects, defining and developing test solutions based on this analysis, and deploying and supporting tests in both factory and field environments. The role also involves working with internal teams, such as software, silicon design, and hardware design, as well as external board test partners to ensure comprehensive test coverage and effective problem-solving in complex electronic systems.

The ideal candidate will have experience in manufacturing test of advanced electronic systems, a thorough understanding of electronics fundamentals, SMT/PCB manufacturing processes, and failure mechanisms. Proficiency in JTAG 1149 boundary scan test techniques and experience with test instruments like oscilloscopes, DMMs, clock generators, SMUs, and PSUs are essential. Strong problem-solving abilities, good communication skills, and the capacity to work effectively with both internal teams and external partners are also required.
