Business Development, Colocation Capacity - Highrise.ai
Hut 8 is seeking a Business Development professional to lead complex agreements within our Highrise.ai division, focusing on colocation capacity. This role involves negotiating contracts that bridge our physical data center assets with digital products, ensuring optimal utilization of our infrastructure. The position is based at our corporate headquarters in the Brickell area of Miami, Florida.
Key responsibilities include defining our off-take strategy by deciding whether to lease raw data center space to hyperscalers or operate the capacity as cloud clusters. The role requires leading negotiations for our largest contracts, managing the process from initial term sheets to final legal agreements. Additionally, the position involves balancing physical inventory with digital demand to maximize utilization and eliminate unused capacity across our footprint. Collaboration with finance and infrastructure teams is essential to align commercial deals with actual power and site constraints.
The ideal candidate is a commercial leader with a strong understanding of both the physical and financial aspects of the data center industry. Experience in data center colocation or cloud infrastructure, specifically managing large-scale wholesale leases, is required. Candidates should have a proven track record of closing multi-million dollar deals and be comfortable negotiating with global tech leaders. The ability to structure complex agreements, including tiered pricing and service level guarantees, is essential. Strong communication skills are necessary to translate technical requirements into clear business value. A proactive attitude and excitement to work in a fast-paced environment are also important.
