Business Development Manager (Institutional)
As a Business Development Manager (Institutional) at Hyphen Connect, you will be instrumental in expanding our platform's reach among institutional clients. Your primary focus will be to establish and nurture partnerships with hedge funds, market makers, asset managers, and corporate treasuries, facilitating their integration into the digital asset ecosystem through our infrastructure.
In this role, you will identify and engage with institutional prospects, including Tier-1 and Tier-2 market makers, venture capital firms, over-the-counter desks, and family offices. You will lead the entire sales process, from initial outreach and presentations to complex contract negotiations and closing deals. Additionally, you will coordinate with internal teams to ensure a seamless onboarding process for institutional clients, addressing their specific needs such as fee structures, API connectivity, and risk solutions.
The ideal candidate will have 2–5 years of experience in business development, institutional sales, or account management within fintech, prime brokerage, or Web3 infrastructure. A strong understanding of traditional finance instruments—such as derivatives, spot trading, lending, and settlement—and their application to DeFi/Web3 is essential. Proficiency in discussing technical specifications, including REST/FIX APIs, MPC wallet security, and smart contract audits, is also required. Excellent communication skills suitable for C-suite and investment committee presentations are necessary, along with a bachelor's degree in finance, economics, business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience in the crypto markets.
Preferred qualifications include an established network of contacts within the crypto institutional space, proficiency in a second language relevant to global financial hubs (e.g., Mandarin for the APAC corridor), and experience explaining complex DeFi concepts to traditional investors.
