The Business Development Representative (BDR) role at SecurityScorecard is a pre-sales position within the Business Development Team, serving as the initial point of contact for prospective customers. The BDR focuses on introducing ideal customers to SecurityScorecard's offerings and qualifying their needs. This position reports to the Director of Business Development and collaborates closely with Field Sales Representatives (FSRs).

Key responsibilities include booking meetings for FSRs, qualifying leads to convert them into opportunities, and generating outbound leads using various tools. The BDR is also responsible for maintaining a clean database, engaging in high levels of phone and email activity, and working with Marketing and Channel teams on ad hoc projects. Additionally, the role involves mastering relevant software tools, researching prospective organizations that could benefit from SecurityScorecard's cloud-based solutions, and identifying decision-makers within those organizations.

Candidates should have 1-2 years of experience in sales development, lead generation, or business development, with a proven track record of consistent and effective performance. Strong communication, discovery, and presentation skills are essential to connect with and persuade senior-level decision-makers. Attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to multitask are also important. Proficiency in Outreach, and LinkedIn is required.

SecurityScorecard offers a competitive salary, stock options, health benefits, unlimited PTO, parental leave, tuition reimbursements, and more. The estimated total compensation range for this position is $40,000 - $50,000 (base plus bonus). Actual compensation is based on factors such as skills, qualifications, and experience, and may vary from the stated range. Employees may also be eligible for annual performance-based incentive compensation awards and equity, among other company benefits.
