Business Development Specialist
The Business Development Specialist at McDermott Will & Emery is a pivotal role within the firm's designated practice group, focusing on driving business development strategies, expanding client relationships, and enhancing revenue and brand recognition. This position collaborates closely with the broader Business Development, Marketing, and Communications teams to execute various initiatives. The role operates under minimal supervision, leveraging experience and judgment to plan and achieve goals.
Key responsibilities include developing an understanding of the practice area's capabilities, crafting responses for requests for proposals (RFPs) and pitches, and conducting market research to ensure tailored responses. The Specialist is also responsible for drafting and maintaining business development collateral, tracking client opportunities in Salesforce, and analyzing data to identify client development opportunities. Additional duties encompass overseeing client webinars and event logistics, leading legal directory and award submissions, compiling business and industry research, and supporting strategic sponsorship and partnership opportunities. Collaboration with Business Development Managers and Associate Directors on cross-selling initiatives and client feedback teams is also a key aspect of the role.
Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree and at least five years of related work experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word) and familiarity with client relationship management (CRM) software are essential. Strong written and verbal communication skills, organizational abilities, and the capacity to work independently under tight deadlines are required. The role also demands the ability to handle confidential information and the flexibility to travel and work varying hours as needed.
The target hiring range for this position is $97,000 to $142,000 annually.
