Business Manager
The Business Manager at Gelfand, Rennert & Feldman (GRF) serves as the primary relationship lead for assigned client accounts, overseeing all financial, operational, and advisory aspects of client management. This role acts as the central point of coordination between clients, Managing Directors, Account Managers, and internal specialists, ensuring the highest standards of service delivery across all aspects of client financial life.
Key responsibilities include serving as the primary point of contact for an assigned roster of clients, leading client meetings, proactively communicating financial updates, and coordinating with clients' attorneys, agents, publicists, business representatives, and other advisors to facilitate seamless financial management. The Business Manager also oversees and supports Account Managers in delivering day-to-day client services, reviews financial reports, assists clients with major financial transactions and life events, and monitors client financial activity to identify issues, opportunities, and areas requiring escalation to Managing Directors.
The ideal candidate will have over five years of experience in business management, accounting, or financial services for high-net-worth individuals and/or entertainers. Demonstrated experience as a primary client contact with strong relationship management skills is essential. A working knowledge of tax concepts and compliance requirements across individual and entity return types, along with a deep understanding of the entertainment business management industry—including royalties, touring, music publishing, record label administration, and motion picture/television finance—is required. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to manage multiple client relationships and competing priorities simultaneously, and a demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop junior staff are also necessary.
This exempt position offers an annualized base salary range between $1,200,000 and $1,750,000, with actual compensation varying based on experience, subject matter expertise, geographic location, and the applicant’s skill set. The total compensation package includes an annual cash bonus and a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and 401(k).
