Business Systems Analyst
The Business Systems Analyst at Mitratech serves as the critical bridge between internal business stakeholders and the development team. This role involves owning the requirements process end-to-end, partnering deeply with stakeholders to understand complex business needs across internal data initiatives spanning analytics, business intelligence, and reporting. The analyst translates these needs into clear, development-ready documentation, ensuring the development team can execute with confidence and minimal back-and-forth.
Key responsibilities include leading requirements-gathering sessions with business stakeholders, applying techniques to draw out needs that stakeholders may not yet fully articulate, particularly in analytics and BI contexts where desired outcomes often emerge through iteration. The analyst translates business requirements into clear documentation, including user stories, acceptance criteria, business rules, data definitions, and reporting logic that development teams can act on independently. Additionally, the role involves contributing to a groomed and prioritized requirements backlog in collaboration with the Technical Project Manager, serving as the ongoing point of contact for stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle, and supporting stakeholder validation of early builds, prototypes, and draft deliverables.
The ideal candidate possesses 2–4 years of experience in a Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, or similar requirements-focused role, with demonstrated ability to gather and document complex business requirements across multiple stakeholders or departments. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, along with experience writing user stories and acceptance criteria in an agile or agile-adjacent environment. Familiarity with Jira and Confluence for requirements tracking and documentation, as well as experience working in a Microsoft Teams-based collaborative environment, is also required. A high attention to detail and a track record of thorough, accurate documentation are critical.
Mitratech offers a competitive compensation package, with the final base salary determined after considering multiple factors during the hiring process, including location, relevant experience and education, required competencies and skill proficiency level, and review of internal equity. The role can be performed 100% remotely within the U.S., providing flexibility and work-life balance.
