Category Manager (WM)
The Category Manager at Wolt Market in Zagreb, Croatia, is responsible for developing and managing the product assortment and trading plans, including pricing and promotions. This role involves building strong relationships with suppliers and taking full ownership of category performance within the Croatian market. The Category Manager will work closely with various teams to ensure optimal product offerings and customer satisfaction.
Key responsibilities include forecasting, monitoring, and reporting on assigned category performance, as well as driving projects and trading strategies to achieve business goals. The role requires defining and continuously updating the store-level assortment to meet customer needs and optimize order economics. Effective negotiation with suppliers to establish joint goals, improve cost structures, and sustainably grow the profit and loss statement is also essential. Additionally, the Category Manager will influence category design, contribute to new product groups, and enhance the customer experience to drive growth.
The ideal candidate has experience in grocery retail, category management, key account management, consulting, or a similar commercial environment, with a proven track record of delivering results, ideally with strong exposure to fresh categories. Strong experience in supplier negotiations and commercial planning is required, along with excellent analytical skills and the ability to translate data into actionable insights. The candidate should be able to think both strategically and operationally, with high attention to detail, and possess strong communication skills for negotiating with internal and external stakeholders. Proficiency in G Suite or MS Office, especially Excel, and full professional proficiency in English and Croatian are also necessary.
