Chief Architect
SecurityScorecard is seeking a Chief Architect to lead the evolution of its cybersecurity ratings platform. This executive role reports directly to the CTO and involves overseeing backend architecture, distributed systems, and data flows. The Chief Architect will manage a Front-end Architect and an AI Architect, guiding the company's transition to an AI-native environment.
Key responsibilities include setting and maintaining architectural direction across the platform, customer migration, and agentic product features. The role involves prototyping and validating architectural decisions, partnering with the CTO on technical strategy, and managing the Front-end and AI Architects to ensure cohesive architecture. Additionally, the Chief Architect will define system-wide standards, mentor senior engineers, and develop a 12–24 month technical roadmap.
The ideal candidate will have 12–15+ years of software engineering experience with significant time in architectural leadership. Deep expertise in backend architecture, distributed systems, and data flows at production scale is essential. Experience scaling platforms, managing large-scale data migrations, and designing REST APIs at scale is required. The candidate should also have the ability to lead and evaluate Front-end and AI Architects and effectively communicate complex architectural decisions to executives and customers.
