The Chief Engineer for Fury Development at Anduril Industries will lead a multidisciplinary team of aircraft design engineers, including experts in configuration, aerodynamics, structural design, guidance and control, mechanical subsystems, avionics, power systems, software, and mission systems. This role focuses on advancing the Fury platform—a flagship unmanned aerial system—as it transitions from design and testing phases into mature production and operational deployment, while also supporting new development initiatives.

Key responsibilities include providing technical and programmatic leadership throughout the lifecycle of air vehicle and mission systems, from initial design through fabrication, testing, productization, and operational deployment. The Chief Engineer will lead strategic trade studies and conceptual design explorations, collaborate with technical subject matter experts and business development teams to identify and deliver innovative solutions addressing current and future capability gaps, and drive detailed system and subsystem designs, managing requirements, optimizing subsystem trades, and mitigating risks to ensure performance, schedule adherence, cost efficiency, and compliance with critical design parameters.

Candidates must possess a deep understanding of unmanned aircraft systems at and above Group 3 classification, a bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, or Software Engineering (or equivalent practical experience), and extensive experience in senior leadership roles guiding air vehicle programs from concept through testing and customer delivery. Additional requirements include a proven track record of driving strategic technical direction within competitive landscapes, the ability to deliver critical functional capabilities while aligning technical objectives with programmatic outcomes, strong internal and external partnership skills, a profound understanding of vehicle and systems design principles, experience with mission-critical Department of Defense systems, and the ability to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.

Anduril Industries offers a competitive salary range for this role, estimated between $254,000 and $336,000 annually, based on factors such as work experience, education, critical skills, and business considerations. Highly competitive equity grants are included in most full-time offers, forming part of Anduril's total compensation package. Additional benefits for full-time employees include comprehensive medical, dental, and vision plans at little to no cost, income protection through life and disability insurance, generous time-off policies, family planning and parenting support, mental health resources, professional development reimbursements, commuter benefits, relocation assistance (depending on role eligibility), and retirement savings plans with various options.
