Commercial Counsel,APAC

The Commercial Counsel, APAC, at Stripe will join a dynamic legal team that partners closely with business, product, and engineering colleagues. Stripe, a global technology company that builds economic infrastructure for the internet, is rapidly expanding in the Asia-Pacific region. This role is critical in supporting the company’s fast-paced growth by providing timely and pragmatic legal advice to the commercial teams operating across various APAC jurisdictions.

Day-to-day responsibilities include structuring, drafting, and negotiating a wide range of commercial agreements, including customer, partner, and vendor contracts. The role also requires providing legal guidance on product and regulatory matters, helping to resolve escalated customer issues, and supporting cross-functional projects across the region. You will be expected to work independently while building strong relationships with internal stakeholders to address commercial and legal risks.

A successful candidate will have significant experience as a commercial lawyer, ideally in a multinational company, technology company, or a top law firm. Required qualifications include a law degree and admission to practice law in at least one APAC jurisdiction, with a preference for candidates who bring a strong understanding of the payments, technology, and financial services industries. You must be fluent in English, possess excellent negotiation skills, and have demonstrable experience drafting complex commercial agreements.
