Commercial Counsel, Starlink
As a Commercial Counsel for Starlink at SpaceX, you will provide legal review and solutions-based counseling to cross-functional partners on a variety of complex legal and business issues in the United States and internationally. This role involves drafting and negotiating commercial agreements, managing legal risks, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations, particularly in the telecommunications sector.
Key responsibilities include drafting, negotiating, and reviewing a broad range of commercial agreements, such as revenue-generating contracts, service terms, partnerships, and complex commercial agreements related to various business verticals. You will identify and mitigate legal risks by implementing appropriate processes, trainings, and controls for the Starlink customer support team. Additionally, you will provide legal analyses of applicable laws, regulations, and industry guidance, particularly in areas of consumer protection and telecommunication laws. Managing Starlink's online terms of service for residential and business products and services globally is also a key aspect of this role.
The ideal candidate will have a JD or foreign equivalent from an accredited law school and at least 4 years of legal experience. Active bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction is required. Preferred qualifications include experience at a well-regarded law firm, in-house legal experience within the tech industry, and experience managing legal issues for a high-growth multinational company. Experience providing legal advice related to commercial technology transactions, ideally internationally and with Fortune 1000 companies, is also desirable. Strong legal and business judgment, technical acumen, communication skills, and strategic thinking are essential.
Compensation for this position ranges from $190,000 to $245,000 per year, depending on job-related knowledge, skills, education, and experience.
