Commercial Solutions Engineer
As a Commercial Solutions Engineer at Motive, you will collaborate closely with off-shore Account Executives to develop deal strategies, deliver tailored product demonstrations, and serve as a trusted advisor to both technical and business stakeholders. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, business acumen, and strong communication skills to effectively map customer challenges to Motive's solutions and influence purchasing decisions. Reporting directly to the Manager of Commercial Solutions Engineering, you will work across Sales, Product, Engineering, and Customer Success teams to ensure customer needs are met and contribute to Motive's growth and success.
In this position, you will partner with the Commercial Account Executive team to support deal strategies, lead discovery conversations, and deliver customized product demonstrations that aid customer decision-making. You will travel to customer sites for trial kickoffs and demos as needed, approximately 40% of the time within the UK. Your responsibilities include showcasing Motive's value by tailoring demos for diverse audiences, translating customer challenges into actionable solutions, developing knowledge of the competitive landscape, and collaborating on RFIs and RFPs to position Motive as the preferred partner for commercial organizations.
The ideal candidate will have at least one year of experience supporting commercial, SMB, or similar market segments in a customer-facing pre-sales or solutions engineering role, with experience in SaaS and/or hardware. A bachelor's degree is preferred. Familiarity with value-based selling frameworks and solutions engineering methodologies such as MEDDIC, MEDDPICC, Command of the Message, Demo2Win, or Great Demo! is desirable. Strong communication skills are essential, with the ability to convey technical topics to both technical and non-technical audiences. Experience in solution sales, navigating commercial sales cycles, and proficiency with APIs, integrations, and technical solution design are also important.

The compensation range for this role in the United States is $90,000 to $130,000 USD in on-target earnings (base pay plus commissions).
