Compliance Officer
Community Financial System, Inc. (CFSI) is seeking a Compliance Officer to join our team in Woburn, Massachusetts. CFSI is dedicated to providing friendly, personalized, and high-quality financial services and products through our retail division, Community Bank, N.A., which operates over 200 customer facilities across Upstate New York, Northeastern Pennsylvania, Vermont, and Western Massachusetts. Beyond retail banking, we offer commercial banking, wealth management, investment management, insurance and risk management, and benefit plan administration.
The Compliance Officer will be responsible for analyzing post-trade compliance reporting for the funds and collaborating with investment managers and custodians to resolve exceptions. Key duties include tracking receipt of required reporting from investment managers, assisting with new account implementations, setting up and testing compliance monitoring processes for new funds, and supporting foreign market openings and ongoing account maintenance. The role also involves conducting periodic meetings with custodians, supporting audits and examinations, developing and enhancing compliance procedures, mentoring less senior team members, and proactively responding to client inquiries.
Candidates should possess a BS/BA degree in business, finance, or accounting, or equivalent work experience, along with 5-10 years of portfolio accounting or related experience with an investment manager or custodian bank. Prior experience in a client service-focused environment is essential. The role requires excellent organizational, analytical, and project management skills, the ability to work independently with effective escalation, and strong communication abilities. Prior management experience is preferred.
The position offers a competitive salary range of $92,000 to $160,592 per year, along with benefits including 11 paid holidays, paid vacation, medical, vision, and dental insurance, a 401(k) plan with generous match, pension, tuition reimbursement, and banking discounts.
