United Consumer Financial Services (UCFS) is seeking a Compliance Officer to oversee consumer finance compliance across the U.S. and Puerto Rico. This role involves developing compliance strategies to foster a culture of adherence within the organization, advising on compliance risks, and guiding business initiatives to ensure regulatory compliance from inception to completion. The Compliance Officer will establish standards and implement strategies to maintain an effective Compliance Management System (CMS) that identifies, prevents, detects, and corrects noncompliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Key responsibilities include developing, reviewing, and updating components of the CMS to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations. The officer will manage the regulatory environment to maintain ongoing compliance, conduct risk assessments, and oversee continuous monitoring activities. Additionally, the role involves developing and updating consumer, merchant, and business agreements, disclosures, notices, advertising materials, policies, procedures, systems, and processes to ensure compliance. The Compliance Officer will also be responsible for the compliance training program, coordinating updates, assessing new training needs, and evaluating the program's effectiveness. Participation in Fair Lending and Risk Management Committees and assisting with complaint investigations and responses are also part of the role.

The ideal candidate will possess a Law Degree or Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM) certification and have at least three years of legal and/or compliance experience in the financial services sector. Strong decision-making and strategic abilities, excellent communication skills, and the capacity to research, analyze, and interpret applicable laws and regulations are essential. Knowledge of federal consumer credit laws and regulations, including TILA, ECOA, FCRA, EFTA, FDCPA, GLBA, TCPA, Red Flag Rules, UDAAP, and relevant state laws, is required. The candidate should demonstrate attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
