Construction/General Liability Associate Attorney
Wilson Elser, a prominent defense litigation law firm with over 1,300 attorneys across 43 offices in the United States, is seeking a Construction/General Liability Associate Attorney to join their team in New York. The Associate Attorney will independently manage cases involving insurance defense, general liability, auto/transportation liability, and New York State Labor Law construction matters. Responsibilities include collaborating with attorneys and partners on high-impact legal projects, handling court appearances and depositions, and maintaining close communication with clients to provide clear, timely updates and guidance.
Candidates must possess a Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and be admitted to practice in the State of New York. A minimum of 2 years of litigation experience is required, with a preference for experience in insurance defense, premises liability, and general liability. An understanding of New York Construction Law (NYS Labor Law 200, 240, 241) is advantageous, as is experience with OSHA hearings or a background with the Corporation Counsel or District Attorney's Office. Superior analytical abilities, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the capability to independently manage caseloads are essential.
