Construction Project Engineer

Position Overview Amarillo, TX We are seeking a motivated Project Engineer to support the successful execution of civil construction and site development projects throughout TX. This is a high-growth opportunity for an organized, detail-oriented professional who wants to develop into a future Project Manager. The Project Engineer works closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, subcontractors, vendors, and field teams to help keep projects organized, on schedule, and moving forward. The ideal candidate is proactive, collaborative, and comfortable working both in the office and in the field. This role offers hands-on exposure to all phases of heavy civil construction, including earthwork, underground utilities, site development, and infrastructure projects. Key Responsibilities Project Coordination & Execution Support Project Managers in the day-to-day execution of construction projects. Assist with project planning, scheduling, coordination, and tracking activities. Help align field operations with project schedules, milestones, and priorities. Follow up on outstanding action items to ensure projects remain on track. Document Control & Project Administration Manage RFIs, submittals, change documentation, and project records. Track and distribute updated plans, specifications, drawings, and revisions. Maintain organized project files and communication logs. Ensure field personnel always have access to current project information. Field Support Partner closely with Superintendents and field crews to support efficient project execution. Conduct regular jobsite visits to stay connected with project progress and field operations. Assist with layout coordination, quantity tracking, inspections, and problem-solving. Serve as a communication bridge between field teams and office staff. Project Tracking & Reporting Monitor installed quantities, production rates, and project progress.
