Heron Power is a startup company building cutting-edge power electronics for the 21st-century grid. We aim to debottleneck the growth of electricity generation and consumption with scalable, innovative, and less costly hardware solutions, accelerating the electrification of everything.
Our first focus goal is to build better converters (inverters & rectifiers) to connect large-scale renewables, storage, and loads to the grid. Heron Power’s leadership team is made up of seasoned veterans who have designed and shipped gigawatts of power conversion products over the past decade.

Job Overview
The Controller will be Heron Power’s first dedicated senior accounting leader. This role will be hands-on in the near term — bringing our close process in-house, leading an ERP implementation, and preparing for our first financial audit — while also laying the foundation for a best-in-class accounting organization. The ideal candidate is a technically strong, cross-functional, and systems-minded leader who has experience building an efficient accounting function from scratch to pre-IPO scale.
HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE
- Scope, select, and project manage implementation of Heron Power’s ERP system in advance of mass production, and ensure tight integration with Supply Chain and Engineering tools
- Establish in-house month-end close process including preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and account balances.
- Create inventory and cost accounting processes to ensure accurate reporting of COGS and production
