Corporate Controller
The Corporate Controller will oversee all accounting operations for a large and well-established agriculture company based in Bakersfield, California. This role involves managing financial reporting, internal controls, and compliance, while supporting strategic financial initiatives. Key responsibilities include overseeing general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and fixed assets; preparing timely financial statements; ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP and regulatory requirements; developing and maintaining internal controls and accounting policies; managing external audits and tax filings; collaborating with executive leadership on budgeting and forecasting; driving process improvements and system enhancements; and monitoring cash flow and financial performance metrics.
Candidates should possess a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, with a CPA strongly preferred. A minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership roles, is required. Experience in agriculture, manufacturing, food production, or related industries is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls, along with proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel, is essential. Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills are also necessary.
