Canva, a global leader in online design, is seeking a Corporate Counsel to provide comprehensive legal support across various facets of its business. This role is integral to the Corporate Legal Team, collaborating closely with leadership, Finance, Tax, People, and Total Rewards teams to support Canva's ambitious goals. The position is based in San Francisco, California, with flexible work arrangements to empower team members.

As Corporate Counsel, you will handle corporate securities matters, including secondary sales and tender offers, and oversee mergers and acquisitions. You will support global expansion efforts by working with the global entities team and local counsel to grow Canva's business worldwide. Additional responsibilities include managing corporate governance matters, company capitalization, employee equity and executive compensation programs, and matters related to the Canva Foundation. You will also be involved in creating and improving processes, agreements, and document templates for transactional and governance matters, supporting the company's corporate insurance program, and managing external counsel.

Ideal candidates will have over four years of corporate legal experience, preferably with a background in venture-backed or high-growth technology companies. Experience in supporting corporate transactions, including venture financings, secondary transactions, and acquisitions, is essential. A Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and active membership in at least one U.S. state bar are required. Candidates should be risk-aware, highly collaborative, and possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in G Suite, Slack, Microsoft Word, and Excel is expected.

Compensation for this role ranges from $190,000 to $290,000 annually, reflecting Canva's commitment to fair and competitive pay.
