Corporate Counsel, Commercial Transactions
GoDaddy is seeking an experienced Corporate Counsel to join its Commercial Transactions team. This role involves managing a high volume of commercial agreements and serving as the primary legal partner for key distribution and go-to-market initiatives. The position is remote, allowing the successful candidate to work from home with occasional visits to GoDaddy offices for team events or meetings.
The Corporate Counsel will independently handle a substantial number of commercial transactions, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating agreements using established templates and playbooks. Responsibilities include supporting strategic and distribution-related partnerships, advising on contract structures and risk considerations, and managing day-to-day contract volumes such as vendor agreements and statements of work. The role also involves collaborating closely with business partners to understand and align with GoDaddy's business strategy.
Candidates should have at least 8 years of relevant legal experience, with a strong background in managing high-volume commercial transactions. Experience in leading legal support for distribution, reseller, partner, market-entry, and go-to-market initiatives is essential. The role requires sound business and legal judgment to identify and address issues across various areas, including commercial, technology, SaaS/licensing, privacy, information security, procurement, and sales. The ability to serve as a trusted advisor to cross-functional business partners is also crucial.
