Waymo is seeking a Corporate Counsel specializing in employment law to join its Legal team. This role involves addressing complex legal issues related to autonomous driving technology and supporting the company's mission to develop the world's most trusted driver. The position follows a hybrid work schedule and reports to the Senior Counsel, Head of Employment Legal.

The Corporate Counsel will provide advice and pragmatic, business-oriented solutions for a broad range of employment issues, including HR policies, recruiting, personnel actions, dispute resolution, ethics, wage and hour legal compliance, and contingent workforce needs. Additionally, the role includes providing legal support for internal investigations concerning potential code of conduct or other violations of internal Waymo policies, as well as preventing and resolving employment disputes and responding to agency claims, audits, and inquiries.

Candidates must possess a Juris Doctor or equivalent degree and have 7+ years of experience practicing employment law representing management at a law firm and/or in-house. Admission to the bar and good standing or authorization to practice law in California is required. A working knowledge of federal and California employment laws is essential, along with experience providing advice to HR and management on a broad range of employment legal issues. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to prioritize and manage numerous simultaneous projects under deadline pressure, are also necessary.

The expected base salary range for this full-time position is $281,000 to $356,000 USD annually. Waymo employees are also eligible to participate in the company's discretionary annual bonus program, equity incentive plan, and generous benefits program, subject to eligibility requirements.
