The Corporate Counsel, Healthcare Transactions at Natera is a mid-level attorney role within the company's high-performing legal department, focusing on supporting research activities. Key responsibilities include independently drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of contracts essential for the company's operations. This primarily involves clinical study agreements, research collaboration agreements, investigator-initiated trials, material transfer agreements, and data use agreements. The role also entails legal review and approval of other company documents, such as clinical study consent forms and study protocols, while managing a substantial workflow and setting priorities with internal clients to meet deliverable timelines.
The position requires a Juris Doctor (JD) degree and a minimum of five years of experience as an attorney in commercial research contracts and general corporate practice, including at least three years in a major law firm. In-house experience is considered a significant advantage. Candidates should have experience advising clients in biotech, life sciences, and/or healthcare industries, and be members of the California Bar or eligible to register as Registered In-House Counsel. Proficiency in reviewing, drafting, negotiating, and finalizing complex commercial contracts independently is essential.
