Corporate Counsel, Spacecraft Licensing

The Corporate Counsel will be a key member of a collaborative legal department, reporting directly to the Senior Associate General Counsel.
The primary responsibility of the Corporate Counsel will be to manage the full lifecycle of spacecraft and ground station licensing. This includes preparing, submitting, and managing license applications to regulatory bodies such as the FCC and NOAA. The role requires close collaboration with systems engineering, mission operations, and communications teams to ensure timely and accurate regulatory filings. Additionally, the Corporate Counsel will monitor compliance obligations, track license portfolios, and serve as the internal subject matter expert on relevant regulatory frameworks.
Candidates should possess a Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school and an active bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction. A minimum of 3–7 years of legal experience is required, with a preference for a combination of law firm and in-house experience. Direct experience in preparing, reviewing, and managing spacecraft and ground station license applications is essential. Strong knowledge of FCC experimental, STA, and Part 25 licenses, as well as NOAA commercial remote sensing regulations, is highly desirable.
