Corporate Counsel
Wealthfront is seeking a Corporate Counsel to join its Legal team, providing legal advice on corporate, securities, and governance matters. The role involves supporting public company reporting obligations and collaborating with various departments, including Compliance, Finance, Product, Marketing, and Engineering, to ensure legal compliance across the company's operations.
Key responsibilities include advising on corporate and securities issues, assisting with public company reporting and filings, preparing corporate governance materials, supporting equity incentive plans, drafting and reviewing corporate and commercial agreements, and providing counsel on new business initiatives. The Corporate Counsel will also collaborate with other legal team members on various projects and stay updated on relevant securities laws and regulatory requirements.
Candidates should have 3-6 years of experience, with at least 2 years at a leading national law firm. Prior in-house experience is helpful but not required. Experience with public company filings, reporting obligations, and governance is essential. Familiarity with corporate, securities, and commercial transactional work is expected. California Bar membership or eligibility to practice as California Registered In-House Counsel is required.
The estimated annual salary for this position ranges from $184,000 to $225,000, plus equity and a discretionary bonus.
