Creators Community Manager, Japan

The Creators Community Manager, Japan, will lead the growth and engagement of Canva's creator community in Japan. This role involves designing and executing strategies to onboard, inspire, and nurture community members, building programs from the ground up while championing Canva's brand and values. The position is based in Tokyo, with expectations for regular in-office presence and potential domestic or international travel as needed.

Key responsibilities include defining and executing the Japan Creator community strategy, aligning with product priorities and cultural moments to drive local impact. The manager will build and manage the Japan Creator community, fostering growth, engagement, and a sense of belonging among contributors. Additionally, the role involves identifying and nurturing creative talent, ensuring creator outputs align with visual trends and Canva's quality standards. Collaboration with content, marketing, SEO, product, and global teams is essential to design and deliver impactful initiatives and campaigns.

The ideal candidate will have over five years of experience in community management or related fields, with a proven track record of building and scaling thriving creative communities. Strong relationship-building skills are crucial, as is the ability to develop trust and maintain close ties with creators, communities, partners, and internal stakeholders. The candidate should be adaptable and proactive, skilled at balancing long-term program building with short-term campaign execution in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency with community management platforms and excellent communication skills in both Japanese and English are required.
