CTO - Banyan Portfolio Company
One of Banyan Software's portfolio companies in Spain is seeking a Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to lead their technology strategy and product development. The CTO will report directly to the CEO and collaborate closely with the Commercial Director to ensure the software platform remains competitive and compliant with the evolving needs of Spanish public institutions. This role involves balancing strategic vision with hands-on execution in a specialized, regulated environment.
The CTO will define and own the company's technology strategy and multi-year product roadmap, focusing on architecture modernization, scalability, and potential migration to cloud or SaaS delivery models. A key responsibility includes championing the strategic adoption of Artificial Intelligence (AI) across the business, identifying and prioritizing AI use cases that deliver measurable value, such as automating routine processes, enhancing reporting and analytics for public sector clients, and improving the efficiency of support and delivery teams. Additionally, the CTO will lead, develop, and grow the engineering team, implementing robust development practices and managing the technical architecture of the platform.
The ideal candidate will have a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline, with a minimum of 8 years of technology leadership experience, including at least 3 years in a senior role such as CTO or VP of Engineering in a software product company. Proven experience in delivering and evolving enterprise or business-to-government (B2G) software products, ideally in a regulated industry, is essential. Hands-on experience integrating AI and automation technologies into software products and operational workflows is highly desirable. Familiarity with the Spanish public sector technology environment, including knowledge of ENS (Esquema Nacional de Seguridad) and GDPR compliance, is a strong advantage. Business-level fluency in both written and spoken English and Spanish is required.
