Customs Trade Compliance Expert
GenScript Biotech Corporation is seeking a Customs Trade Compliance Expert to join our team. This role is pivotal in ensuring adherence to all applicable import/export regulations and Partner Government Agency (PGA) requirements. The successful candidate will act as the primary point of contact for customs clearance processes, contributing to our mission of making humans and nature healthier through biotechnology.
Key responsibilities include filing entries through the Automated Broker Interface (ABI) in compliance with Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations, supervising classification processes for Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS), Schedule B, Export Control Classification Number (ECCN), and Harmonized System Codes (HSC) to ensure compliant imports/exports and maximize duty savings. Additionally, the role involves establishing and leading a Duty Drawback Program, applying for and maintaining company import and export licenses and permits, and conducting compliance audits to ensure full regulatory compliance.
The ideal candidate will possess a U.S. Customs Broker License or be CCS or CES certified with experience in setting up Duty Drawback programs. A minimum of 5 years of experience in trade compliance with a special focus on duty drawback is required. Solid knowledge of import/export regulations and product classification, proven expertise in U.S. import/export procedures, and strong working knowledge of ACE, ABI systems, and classification tools are essential. Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, time management, and professional communication skills are also necessary.
This position offers a competitive salary range of approximately $85,000 to $105,000, based on experience.
