Cyber Incident Response Associate Attorney

The Associate Attorney will be responsible for managing cybersecurity and data privacy incidents, analyzing relevant state, federal, and international laws, and drafting legal notices for data breaches. Additional duties include responding to regulatory investigations, overseeing forensic investigations, coordinating with third-party vendors for e-Discovery and data mining, advising clients on legal notification obligations, and preparing crisis communications. The role also involves interfacing with clients, including senior management and IT staff, drafting reports to insurance carriers, and preparing legal budgets.
Candidates should possess a Juris Doctor from an accredited law school and be admitted to the Bar in good standing. A minimum of three years of legal experience, with at least three years focused on data privacy and security, particularly data breach and incident response, is required. Strong knowledge of data breach and privacy laws, including HIPAA, GLBA, FERPA, CCPA, and GDPR, is essential. An IT or technical background is advantageous. Excellent research, writing, and communication skills are necessary, along with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and function effectively as a team player.
