Data Migration and Integration Consultant (HR/Payroll Systems)
Harbor is seeking a Data Migration and Integration Consultant to join our HR and payroll transformation practice. This technical consulting role is central to our delivery work, responsible for migrating client data into modern HR platforms and designing integrations that connect these platforms to the broader technology landscape. The position involves working with SAP SuccessFactors, Workday, and Oracle HCM, guiding clients from fragmented legacy data to clean, validated go-live loads, and from integration requirements to tested, supportable interfaces. The role is remote-based in the UK, with occasional travel to client sites as needed.
In this role, you will lead and deliver data migration workstreams into SAP SuccessFactors, Workday, or Oracle HCM, covering strategy, planning, go-live, and hypercare phases. You will define migration approaches, including scoping data objects, load sequencing, cutover plans, and rollback positions. Assessing legacy data quality, identifying gaps, duplicates, and inconsistencies, and collaborating with clients on data cleansing will be key responsibilities. Additionally, you will design and maintain mapping and transformation rules between legacy sources and target system structures, build and execute data loads across multiple test cycles, and produce validation and reconciliation reporting to ensure data accuracy and completeness. Advising clients on data retention, archiving, and the treatment of historical records will also be part of your duties.
The role requires proven data migration experience into at least one of SAP SuccessFactors, Workday, or Oracle HCM, across multiple full lifecycle projects. Experience in integration design and technical delivery, including producing specifications and building and testing interfaces, is essential. Hands-on experience with ETL tooling and confidence in manipulating large, imperfect datasets are necessary. A strong understanding of HR and payroll data structures, including the sensitivities around personal data and the importance of accuracy at cutover, is crucial. Experience in running reconciliation and validation across test cycles and production loads, along with the ability to communicate clearly with both technical teams and HR stakeholders, is required. Candidates must have the right to work in the UK and be willing to travel to client sites when needed.
While not mandatory, experience across more than one of the three target platforms is desirable. Knowledge of platform-specific tooling such as Workday EIB, Core Connectors and Studio, SAP Integration Suite and Infoporter, or Oracle HDL and OIC is advantageous. Experience with payroll migrations and parallel run reconciliation, familiarity with UK GDPR and data protection considerations, exposure to professional services or legal sector clients, and consulting experience or client-side experience with a clear consulting mindset are also beneficial.
At Harbor, you can expect varied technical work across three major HR platforms, rather than being tied to a single technology. We offer a collaborative practice with direct access to senior leadership and genuine input into how we grow. We invest in platform certifications and wider professional development, and provide a competitive salary, bonus, and benefits, with flexible and remote working supported.
