Data Scientist, Intern (PhD)

Duolingo is seeking a Data Scientist Intern (PhD) to join their team in New York or Pittsburgh. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to Duolingo's mission of providing accessible and effective education worldwide.

As a Data Scientist Intern, you will collaborate with product and engineering teams to analyze user behavior and assess the impact of new features. Your work will involve applying advanced analytical methods, including machine learning and causal inference, to model user behavior and inform product decisions. You will also evaluate product experiments to enhance user experiences and communicate findings to senior management.

Candidates should be pursuing a PhD in a quantitative field, such as Economics, Finance, Statistics, Math, Linguistics, Computer Science, or Computational Social Science, and be at least in the third year of their program. A strong understanding of consumer digital products and experience analyzing large datasets are essential. Proficiency in SQL, R, or Python, and statistical methods for behavioral data analysis is required.
