Deputy General Counsel, Regulatory (APAC)
OKX is seeking an experienced and dynamic Deputy General Counsel, Regulatory (APAC) to join our legal team in Singapore. As a leading global cryptocurrency exchange and developer of the OKX Wallet, we are committed to reshaping the future through crypto and blockchain technology. This senior role reports directly to the Head of APAC Legal and involves providing strategic legal counsel on regulatory matters across the Asia-Pacific region, with a particular focus on the Hong Kong market.
In this position, you will lead high-profile legal initiatives, offering guidance and support to senior stakeholders both regionally and globally. Your responsibilities will include advising on APAC regulatory issues, managing relationships with external entities such as government agencies, regulators, and industry bodies, and collaborating with our global legal team on innovative projects. Additionally, you will work closely with our Risk, Compliance, and Licensing teams to monitor regulatory developments, ensuring that regional policies are current and effectively communicated to senior management. Utilizing AI and specialized software to enhance team efficiency and output quality will also be a key aspect of your role.
The ideal candidate holds a common law degree (LLB or J.D.) and is a qualified solicitor with 10 to 15 years of post-qualification experience, including substantial work in Hong Kong. You should have a strong background in regulatory matters, gained from reputable international law firms and in-house roles within financial institutions, fintech, or crypto companies. Experience advising senior stakeholders across multiple APAC jurisdictions is essential. The role demands the ability to manage complex, time-sensitive issues in a fast-paced environment, providing sound, practical advice and serving as a trusted strategic partner to business leaders. Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in both written and spoken English and Mandarin Chinese are required to effectively collaborate with stakeholders throughout the APAC region.
