Development Strategy and Support Director
The Development Strategy and Support Director at PlayStation Global is a pivotal role within the Development Strategy team, responsible for overseeing the global portfolio title review process across PlayStation Studios. This position involves tracking and reporting on multiple projects at various development stages, coordinating internal reviews, and ensuring effective communication between development teams and executive leadership.
Key responsibilities include conducting periodic title reviews, both onsite at global studio locations and virtually, and preparing for these reviews by collaborating with studios and coordinating with internal groups such as user research, publishing, forecasting, and finance. The director will foster positive relationships to ensure alignment across development teams, executive leadership, and support groups, and will partner with studio leadership to provide actionable insights throughout the development lifecycle.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 8 years of experience in internal game production, including leading a game to launch and holding a leadership role on a game team. A strong understanding of the game development lifecycle and industry best practices across various game types, genres, platforms, and business models is essential. The role requires excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Familiarity with global teams across different cultures and time zones, and experience with tools for user research, playtesting, and metrics analysis are also important.
Compensation for this role includes a base pay range of $217,200 to $271,500 USD annually, along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, matching 401(k), paid time off, wellness programs, and employee discounts for Sony products. The role may also be eligible for a bonus package.
