Development Strategy and Support Director

The Development Strategy and Support Director at PlayStation Studios is responsible for overseeing the global portfolio title review process. This role involves tracking and reporting on multiple projects at various development stages, coordinating internal reviews, collecting and reviewing materials, and driving follow-up actions. The director works closely with development teams and leadership to ensure effective communication and project support.

Key responsibilities include conducting periodic title reviews, both onsite at studio locations globally and virtually. The director prepares for these reviews by partnering with studios and coordinating with internal groups such as user research, publishing, forecasting, and finance. Building trust and ensuring alignment across development teams, executive leadership, and support groups is essential. Additionally, the director provides actionable insights at key moments throughout the development lifecycle and shares best practices by collaborating with PlayStation's world-class studios.

The ideal candidate has a minimum of 8 years of experience in internal game production, including leading a game to launch and holding a leadership role on a game team. A strong understanding of the game development lifecycle and industry best practices across various game types, genres, platforms, and business models is required. The candidate should be an excellent communicator with a track record of engaging partners across multiple departments and teams, balancing diplomacy, tact, and credibility. The ability to prioritize, plan, and execute simultaneously across multiple projects with varying stakeholders is also important.

Compensation for this role includes a base pay range of $217,200 to $271,500 USD, along with a top-tier benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, matching 401(k), paid time off, a wellness program, and employee discounts for Sony products. The role may also be eligible for a bonus package.
