The Digital Operations & Activation Manager (Programmatic Expertise) at WPP Media is a pivotal role within the Sydney office, focusing on driving operational excellence and programmatic innovation across a portfolio of top-tier clients, including Tourism New Zealand, Blackmores, and IKEA. This position involves close collaboration with the Digital Transformation Director and Group Investment and Activation Director to ensure consistency, high-quality delivery, and the development of innovative testing plans across all markets.
Key responsibilities include leading programmatic growth initiatives for IKEA by shaping their digital evolution, reimagining campaign models, and pioneering new full-funnel campaign activations. The role also entails championing operational brilliance for Tourism New Zealand and Blackmores by ensuring seamless execution, upholding data accuracy, enforcing governance, and resolving complex technical challenges. Additionally, the manager will implement major campaigns for IKEA's Big Brand and EOFY Sale events and contribute to FY27 annual planning recommendations. Maintaining and publishing global strategic test & learn and data governance playbooks to ensure a unified, high-quality approach to campaign delivery, testing, and measurement is also a critical aspect of the role.
The ideal candidate possesses deep, hands-on expertise in the programmatic ecosystem, particularly with platforms like DV360 and The Trade Desk, especially across video and audio channels. Several years of experience in digital media or ad tech operations, a sharp commercial mindset, and a focus on delivering quality and efficiency across multiple accounts are essential. A strong grasp of data activation, audience design, and optimization levers, coupled with the ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable performance insights, is required. A collaborative and proactive spirit is also highly valued.
